Bridging the gap somewhere between alternative, electronic and dark pop, Sydney and LA-based artist CXLOE (Chloe Papandrea) offers up something unique and exciting with every new release. Since exploding onto the scene in late 2017 with her honest and raw debut single ‘Tough Love’, which premiered on triple j and peaked out at No.1 on Spotify’s Viral Chart, and supporting acts such as Maroon 5, Alison Wonderland and Broods, CXLOE has quickly made a name for herself as the “next big thing” in pop music.
In 2018 her breakthrough sophomore single ‘Monster’, gained praise both locally and internationally, finding a home at the top of Spotify Australia’s New Music Friday as well as placement in an additional 6 country’s New Music Friday playlists including the US and Canada. Her third single, ‘Show You’ is a hard hitting pop number co-written with Sam Farrar of Maroon 5 sitting on a tidy 10+million streams. Maintaining her growing momentum, this year has been a huge year for CXLOE as she continues to experiment and evolve her sound. Her latest offerings ‘I Can’t Have Nice Things’, ‘Low Blow’ and most recently, the infectious dark pop banger ‘SICK’ feat. LA artist gnash, are proof that CXLOE is on top of her game and a true force to be reckoned with. Listen to CXLOE’s music below and let us know what you think.

With only one single to her name, nineteen year-old Kita Alexander is already well on her way to blowing up the Australian music scene.
Born in Brisbane and raised in Port Macquarie, Kita developed an early love for music and started singing and playing the guitar when she was just 8 years old. Inspired by the rockers of the 80's, Kita cites Tom Petty, Rodriguez, Patti Smith, Lou Reed and Joe Cocker as some of her early influences. After leaving high school and deciding to pursue music as a career, Kita started travelling and playing gigs between Brisbane and Sydney as well as landing herself a manager, Tim Manton (Angus & Julia stone), who now looks after her alongside US agency, TAP Management (Lana Del Rey). Since dropping the video for her debut track "My Own Way" on YouTube last May, Kita has spent the last several months writing with the likes of Nick Littlemore of Empire of the Sun as well as writer/producers involved with Sia and M83. Something tells us we'll be seeing a lot more of this dreamy indie-pop songstress in the future! You can check out Kita's debut single 'My Own Way' online here as well as follow her crazy ride on instagram here. Oh Wonder are a feel good electro-pop duo from London, that we're all sorts of in love with. After a few chance meetings four years ago, Josephine and Anthony began writing together, but it wasn't until last year that they decided to share their work with the world. In September 2014, the prolific songwriters devised an ambitious challenge; to release one track a month, for a year, on their SoundCloud. As their plan nears fruition, the talented duo will bring the curtain down on the project by releasing their self titled debut album on 4th September as well as making their live debut the same month. Every track released so far has topped the Hype Machine chart and, altogether, have garnered an incredible 33.5 million streams across SoundCloud and Spotify.
Their latest single and video ‘Drive', is an uplifting pop production that disguises the quietly dark, angst-ridden lyrics that explore the pained drive home after a break up; the conflicting feelings of freedom and justification. But it's the luscious guy-gal harmonies layered with pitch-perfect violins that make this beautiful pop tune work so well. Basically, if 'Drive' were a dessert, it would be a delectable red velvet cupcake and you'd definitely keep coming back for more. Oh Wonder will also be coming to Australia for the first time this summer to perform alongside the likes of Foals and Bloc Party at The Falls Music and Arts Festival as well as Southbound. With a sound reminiscent of Lykke Li and The Bird & The Bee, this quirky singer is making some serious waves in the music world with her catchy indie pop tunes. After the completing her first EP, I Killed Sara V in early 2014, she then went on to release her debut album, We Loved Her Dearly via Arts + Crafts Productions. We Loved Her Dearly is both intensely catchy and emotionally personal, with songs that touch on subjects such as sexual abuse and LGBT rights. Each song was written to empower not only herself but her listeners; to challenge gender conventions and social limitations, as well as to celebrate and uphold individuality. Lowell's brand of pop may be confronting in terms of her subject matter, but her dreamy melodies keep her songs catchy and fun. You can stream We Loved Her Dearly online now via Spotify or purchase it via Gallery AC.
Nineteen year-old singer/songwriter AYLA made her arrival on the Australian music scene in early 2014, with the release of her debut single, ‘Wish I Was’. The track was quickly picked up by Triple J, receiving plenty of airtime and becoming their 15th most played track for the year, along with the most played song on the national youth broadcaster by a solo female. The last 12 months have seen this young songstress signed to Italian music label, Ego Music (The Jezabels, Emma Louise) as well as touring the country with the likes of Husky, Bonjah and The John Steel Singers.
With the haunting opening line “Never seen so many people, never felt so all alone.” her latest single, ‘Waiting’ conveys the notion of feeling alone, even when surrounded. Vivid guitars, tight-knit drums, delicate synths and AYLA's powerful vocals make for an instantly likeable and compelling track, that will definitely give you all the feels. The good news is that AYLA has been busy working on new material and will release her debut EP in the coming months. 'Waiting' is available now on iTunes and can also be streamed online now via Soundcloud. For more info on AYLA visit her website and Facebook. Former members of the indie rock act, Gobble Gobble, Megan and Corin signed with 4AD Records in 2011 and released their debut album 'Shrines' soon after. They quickly amassed a rabid fanbase, toured relentlessly and sold out shows worldwide, earning ‘Best New Music’ from Pitchfork and praise from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and NPR, among others.
The duo have just released their second album Another Eternity and we can't get enough of it. This time around, the duo have done away with the gorgeously claustrophobic atmospheres of their debut album and embraced a more open and luminous sound. Produced and recorded entirely by themselves, the dynamic and infectious record combines Megan's dreamy vocals and revealing lyrics with Corin's beautifully woven synths, evocative melodies and thumping beats. After forming back in 2010 the group are finally ready to release their debut album, 'In Color'. The experimental record features poignant vocals, orchestral strings, brass sections, synths and glockenspiel melodies and will be released on December 10th. We really dig the chilled out vibe of the record as well as the obvious 80s synth-pop influence, especially in the track 'Too Good'. If you can't wait until the album drops, you can head to Hill Myna's soundcloud now and have a little listen to their first two singles 'Waves & Sunsets' and 'Today'.
